We create outdoor experiences in the Lake District that are calm, inclusive, and genuinely meaningful — whether it’s a family’s first adventure, a supported mountain ambition, or a technical day for confident adults.

Adventure Makers Ltd is now a partnership-led company, working with a small team of trusted specialist freelance instructors who share our standards.

Founder & Lead Guide

Dave founded Adventure Makers after years of working across the outdoor industry, delivering everything from youth expeditions to professional instructor training.

His guiding style is calm, thoughtful, and deeply experience-led — the kind of leadership that helps people feel capable without ever being pushed.

Dave is known for creating adventures that feel:

Guide, Climber & The Next Generation

Mark joined Adventure Makers as Dave’s trainee and is now an integral part of the company’s future.

A highly capable climber and outdoor professional, Mark brings energy, skill, and a natural ability to connect with people — especially families and mixed-ability groups.

As a family man himself, Mark understands what makes a great day out for everyone:
