Are your adventures suitable for beginners?

Yes. Many of our guests are first-timers.

Our signature adventures are designed around your experience and confidence — not a fixed difficulty level.

Do you work with families and young children?

Absolutely.

We offer family adventures specifically designed for children aged 3–8, with a gentle pace and playful exploration.

What if someone in our group needs extra support?

Supported adventures are one of our specialities.

We can adjust pace, route, staffing, and in some cases provide additional support so that ambitions remain achievable.

Are your adventures private or open to the public?

Our Signature Adventures are private by default.

We also offer a small number of open, bookable sessions and club events through our booking system.

How do I choose the right adventure?

You don’t need to know.

Just use our Ask a Guide form — Dave or Mark will suggest the best option based on your group, goals, and comfort level.

What should we bring?

We provide a clear kit list after booking, and can supply specialist equipment where needed.

The aim is to keep things simple and stress-free.

Is it safe?

Yes — safety is built into everything we do.

We operate with appropriate qualifications, ratios, planning, and professional judgement. Adventure should feel exciting, not chaotic.

Do you run adventures in bad weather?

Often, yes.

Some activities (like canoeing and caving) work brilliantly year-round, and we always choose the safest and most enjoyable option for the conditions.

Where are you based?

We operate primarily in the Lake District, with some specialist activities (such as caving) taking place just outside the area.
